Heirlooms

Objects and documents from the family. Several still lack details, and whatever is unresolved is listed as such.

«Slekten Dietrichson 1724–1924»

The book is bound in blue cloth with a thin, double gold frame. The title «Slekten Dietrichson» is in gold in an arc above the family shield, which has a helmet and a dove above it. Below the shield are the years 1724–1924, the first 200 years of the family in Norway.

We have not found the book in the catalogue of the National Library. The author, publisher and year of printing have not been established, and neither have the rights to the text and illustrations. The cover is the model for the dark theme of this site.

«Stamtavle over Slægten Dietrichson»

The cover is gray cloth with a wide border in a pattern of black plant tendrils. The title «Stamtavle over Slægten Dietrichson» is stamped in gold, with a small ornamental line below it. There are stains on the cover.

The spelling «Slægten» is the same as in the title of the register David Dietrichson published in 1882. The 1923 edition uses «slekten». The copy may therefore be from 1882, but this is not confirmed, and we do not know who has owned it. The number of pages, and whether it includes a fold-out tree, are not known.

The family seal

The picture shows a seal impression in wax. The wax is round, and in the middle is an oval frame with a beaded edge. Inside is a shield with a helmet and a bird above it. The picture appears to be a photograph of a printed page, not of the seal itself.

We do not know who owned the seal, when it was made or where the original is today. It is unclear whether the shield on the seal is the same as the one in the books from 1924 and 1974.
